Step-by-Step Instructions

To ensure the most accurate results, you must perform the speed test as close to the final location of your Smart Store as possible.

1. Ensure a Stable Connection

Before testing, ensuring your phone is securely connected to the network you want to check is crucial. A stable connection is the foundation for accurate results.

  • For Mobile Data: Turn off Wi-Fi to ensure you're testing your mobile network (turn WiFi off)
  • For WiFi: Connect to the Wi-Fi using the information provided to you by your site contact.

Please ensure no large downloads or streaming services are running in the background, as these may affect the test.

2. Open www.speedtest.net on your phone browser

Open this website (https://www.speedtest.net/) on your phone's browser and press the "Go" button. The website will automatically:

  • Measure Ping (latency)
  • Measure Download/Upload speed (how fast you can receive/send data)

This process takes about 30 seconds.

3. Capture and Analyze the Results

Once the test is complete, you'll get two key metrics:

  • Ping (ms): Lower is better; a good ping is typically under 50ms.
  • Download Speed (Mbps): The higher the number, the faster your connection.

Minimum speed requirement:  10 Mbps download, 10 Mbps upload

4. Test both Wi-Fi and Mobile Data Speeds

Regularly performing speed tests ensures your connection meets your needs and troubleshoots potential network problems.
