Step-by-step instructions to set up your Smart Fridge and Smart Pantry
Before Installation
- The pre-installation site survey is complete
- Familiarize yourself with cabinet functionality (see: Smart Store Hardware Overview)
- Familiarize yourself with product pushers (see: Product Pushers Overview)
- Your planogram is approved on the Micromart Platform
- Set an installation appointment with the delivery company and inform Micromart. When your shipment arrives in your local area, your local white glove provider will contact you to schedule a delivery date and time.
📆Email support@micromart.com with your expected installation date, time and address so we are available to support you during your installation.
Process Overview
Time Required: We anticipate approx 2 hours to have your cabinet ready to load
- Receive your cabinet, power it up, unlock the door and install the POS
- Power up the electronics & contact Micromart to remotely configure your cabinet
- Install the shelves and product pushers
- Install and Pair the Digital Price Tags (eTags)
- Perform a Test Transaction
- Stock your cabinet and open for business

1. Receive your cabinet, power it up, unlock the door and install the POS
- Meet the truck at the scheduled appointment time: Inspect and confirm that the unit is free of damage or defects before signing to accept the delivery. If any damage or defect is detected, do not accept delivery. Immediately email support@micromart.com to resolve this.
- Remove the cabinet from the pallet and remove the packaging materials (covered by white-glove service)
- Review and remove the warning labels
- Place the cabinet near the final installation location (near the power source)
- Power up only the compressor (90 deg power cable only)
- Unlock the door to take out the POS, shelves and mounting accessories. To unlock the door:
- On the bottom right corner of the fridge, slide the electronics cover to the left
- Hold "P" and "U" buttons for 5 sec to unlock the door (this will only work during the initial setup)
- Take out the POS box
- Take out the shelves and shelf mounting clips
- Install the POS on the door
- Connect the (1) power cable and (2) Ethernet cable to the POS
- Slide the top of the POS into the mount, and then snap the bottom into place
- Secure the POS from below with the 2 provided screws (screws are located in the bag of shelf clips and zip ties)
2. Power up the electronics & contact Micromart to remotely configure your cabinet
- Plug in the straight power cable: This will turn ON the router, computer, screen, POS and eTag communications hub.
- It takes 3-6 minutes for the router to connect to the nearest cellular tower. Once connected, the you will see a "coming soon" video play on the top display.
- Locate and document the serial number of the unit(s). This is found on the silver plaque on the inner left wall of the cabinet.

💡If you cabinet is beeping after power up, clear any temperature related alarms by holding the the "down" arrow for until you see the "---" on the scrolling screen.

3. Install the shelves and product pushers
A - Install the shelf clips
Before your installation, you will receive a "Planogram Shelf Map" via email. This file will contain the location where each shelf should be installed. Use this map to setup each shelf in your cabinet.
B - Install the shelves
Place each shelf on the 4 clips ensuring that:
- the "hook" on the front of the shelf is at the front of the cabinet
- the shelves are level and making contact with each of the clips
C - Install the (1) eTag and (2) Pusher Mounting Rails on each shelf
- Familiarize yourself with what's in the Accessories Box
- Install the eTag Mounting Rails on each shelf
- Ensure that the C-channel is at the bottom
- Install the Pusher Mountain Rails on each shelf
- Ensure they are secured down with the provided screw/washer
D - Install your pushers
- Install pushers in accordance with your planogram template
- Ensure that the front rail of the pusher is installed as far forward on the shelf as possible.
- Note: when installing a Drink Pusher on the bottom shelf, zip-tie the the beverage pusher to the shelf to ensure that it is as far forward as possible and does not slide back.

4. Install and Pair the Digital Price Tags (eTags)
A - Snap in the eTags into the Mounting Rails
- Place the eTags on the eTag mounting rails by snapping them into place (see video below)
- Peel off the clear protective sticker from each eTag
- eTags can display the name/price of 1 or 2 items. Place the eTags such that they are centered relative to the product(s) they represent. For example:
B - Pair the eTags and assign their location in the cabinet
Before proceeding, ensure that your planograms have been approved in platform.micromart.com.
- With your smartphone, log in to https://platform.micromart.com/
- Browse to the "Stores" page and select the store you'd like to configure
- Under the "Cabinets" section of the page, locate the Cabinet you'd like to configure
- Select the "..." on the top-right corner of the Cabinet, and select "Assign price tags" from the dropdown
- Tap each cell in the planogram, and use your smartphone to scan the barcode of each eTag. Once scanned, press "Assign"
🔍Verify that the barcode was accurately scanned. If you notice a discrepancy between what is on the eTag and what was scanned, manually correct it before pressing "Assign"
- Once complete, the progress bar at the top of the page will turn green, indicating all eTags have been successfully scanned.
- To update the eTags, browse to the Cabinet, and in the dropdown of options, select "Update Price Tags"
- Within a few seconds, you will see the eTags flicker and update with the names and prices of the products designated for each cell.

5. Perform a Test Transaction
- Clean: the glass and the handles with Windex & micro-fiber cloth
- Clear Alarms: Clear any temperature related alarms that may have been triggered during the setup process. (Learn: How to Clear Alarms)
- To clear alarms, hold the "DOWN" arrow for until you see "---" on the blue display ( ~5 seconds)
- To ignore any high-temperature alarms for 30 min, hold the "U" and "DOWN" arrow for until you see "Hi Delay" (~5 seconds)
- Turn on the Battery Backup system at rear of cabinet: In the event of a power outage, the backup battery system keeps the temperature monitoring system ON for up to 8 hours to monitor the cabinet's internal temperature. Should the temperature drift outside of the food-safe temperature zone for a prolonged period, the cabinet will be locked-out and you will be alerted to investigate and take further action.
- Perform a Test Transaction: Verify end-to-end system operation. As a customer would, tap your credit card, unlock the door, wave your hand inside the cabinet, and close the door.

6. Stock your cabinet and open for business
Your first stock can take approx. 1 hour per cabinet.
- Pictures: Take pictures of your newly installed Smart Store from a variety of angles. Upload them in the Platform and share them with Micromart :)
