Which payment methods are accepted?
Acceptable payment methods at Micromart Smart Stores in USA and Canada
Micromart is cashless system. Depending on the country of operation, different cards are accepted by Micromart stores.
United States of America
Micromart accepts valid credit and debit cards from major providers, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Micromart Smart Stores also accept digital payments via Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Micromart does not accept prepaid cards or gift cards. If a customer attempts to use these cards, the transaction will be declined, and they will not be able to unlock the door. Note: a pre-authorization hold may appear on these cards and will be released by the card issuer according to their protocols.
Canada
Micromart accepts valid credit cards from major providers, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Micromart Smart Stores also accept digital payments from Google Pay and Apple Pay.
Micromart does not accept debit, prepaid cards or gift cards. If a customer attempts to use these cards, the transaction will be declined, and they will not be able to unlock the door.
Interac debit cards in Canada are not accepted due to a technical policy limitation by Interac that prevents pre-authorization holds from be adjusted upwards (in the event that the the total transaction value is larger than pre-authorized value, the transaction would be able to be settled).
