How does a Micromart work?
- On the home screen of the payment terminal, tap "Press to Start"
- To confirm that you'd like to access the Smart Store, tap "Pre-authorize"
- Tap, insert or swipe your card to Pre-Authorize the card
- If it's your first time using that particular card, you will be prompted to enter your phone number to receive an SMS receipt (first time only)
- Once pre-authorized, the door will unlock. Pull the door open to gain access to the products.
- You can now enjoy a natural shopping experience and take as many items as you like. The Product Recognition Sensors automatically detect what has been taken out.
- You are only charged for the items taken out after the door is closed
- While the door is open, if you take an item and return it back in its place, you will not be charged for that item
- Upon closing the door, you will receive an SMS to confirm that your transaction took place and that you will receive an SMS receipt once the system has processed the order.
- Within a few hours of the transaction, you will receive an SMS with a link to an itemized receipt.
How much does a Micromart cost?

What countries is Micromart available in?
Micromart is currently available in the United States and Canada. We do plan to expand to other countries in the future, so please follow us on our social media channels to stay up to date with any expansion news.
Does Micromart offer different models?
We offer 3 types of models: Smart Fridge, Smart Pantry, and Smart Freezer. They all look and work the same way, but they hold different temperatures.
How many items can a Micromart unit hold?
It depends on what types of products you intend to sell. This can range from 280 - 750. View the most popular planogram layouts here.
What are the dimensions of a Micromart unit?
The external dimensions of a Micromart unit are 79" H x 30" W x 37.75 " D. You can find more detailed specifications here.
Do you have a double-door unit?
No, every Micromart is a single-door unit. Our units are designed to be modular and work together seamlessly to create a single store with multiple cabinets.
Do you have a combo machine?
Not in the traditional sense. But yes, you can achieve the same by combining Micromart's modular units (Fridge, Pantry, and Freezer). If you are starting with one machine, we recommend getting a Smart Fridge because it can sell cold drinks, fresh food, and also snacks, essentially making it a combo machine.
What types of products can be sold?
Micromart can sell almost anything that fits inside the cabinet. Common categories include:
- Snacks & Drinks - chips, protein bars, ice cream, bottled beverages, energy drinks
- Fresh Food - sandwiches, salads, meal kits, groceries, frozen meals
- Health & Wellness - OTC medications, supplements, personal care items
- Office & Lifestyle - coffee pods, tech accessories, everyday essentials
How much revenue do machines generate annually?
On average, Micromart operators earn approximately $13,000 annually in revenue per machine. Of course, your results will vary depending on where you place your machine and what items you sell. Do Micromart cabinets come with a warranty?
Yes! Every Micromart comes with a 5-year warranty, which covers the compressor and a 1-year warranty for all other parts and labor.
Does Micromart help secure locations?
We don't help you find locations, but you are welcome to use these marketing materials to help you pitch your services. We also recommend using this profit calculator to help you determine what a good location looks like.
Pricing, Financing & Fees
Do you offer financing?
We do not offer financing. We offer a lease-to-own program, but you are also welcome to explore outside financing options.
How does the lease-to-own program work?
Instead of paying for the machine upfront, the lease-to-own program allows you to pay a small monthly fee to operate the Micromart for 36 months, with the option to purchase the equipment for a nominal fee. You can find the lease pricing here.
What are the requirements to get approved for the lease-to-own program?
You will need a few things in order to lease a Micromart unit:
- A registered business and permits as a vending machine operator
- A location that has enough daily foot traffic (we recommend finding a location with 150+ people on-site per day)
- A signed contract with the location for a minimum of 1 year that auto-renews. You can find sample contract templates online or use AI platforms to assist you in creating one.
- Business insurance with equipment coverage. This can be secured after your application is approved.

Can we pay off the machine early if we lease it?
Yes, you can pay the remaining lease payments at any time and purchase the equipment with no penalty. You would be required to pay the balance + the buyout fee.
What are the upfront costs?
Here are the upfront costs for purchasing or leasing a Micromart:

What are the ongoing fees?
- Software Fee ($60/month per cabinet)

- 4% + 10 cents for transactions <$8

- Data fees if your machine is connected to cellular service and not Wi-Fi (5 cents per transaction)

Shipping & Delivery
How much is shipping?
Shipping rates depend on your location, but typically range from $400 to $800 for freight. To get a quote, please contact sales@micromart.com.
Where do you ship?
We can ship your Micromart to any address in the United States or Canada.
What is the lead time?

How do the machines get installed?
We have 2 delivery/installation methods:
- Curbside Delivery: A third-party delivery company will deliver your unit to the curb of your location. You would be responsible for removing the unit from the pallet, unboxing it, and setting up the shelves, pushers, and etags in its final location. You can book an installation date and time with our team, ensuring you have someone on standby to support your installation. You would be required to submit your product list and planogram in advance of your delivery.
- Inside Delivery: After you submit your product list and planogram, our warehouse team will pre-assemble your cabinet for you based on your planogram, and they will install the shelves, pushers and etags ahead of time. You will receive a pre-shipment call with our delivery team to ensure everything is ready for your delivery. You will also receive an email with tracking, an SMS when the truck is picking up your unit, and another SMS when they are 30 minutes away, giving you adequate time to prepare. Inside Delivery is what 95% of operators choose, and is an additional cost.
Machine Features & Specs
What are product pushers?
Product pushers are spring-loaded accessories placed on each shelf to push all the products to the front of the fridge ("facing"). A well-organized storefront helps your business look professional, stocked, tidy, and attractive, enabling a smooth and intuitive shopping experience. How do I order more product pushers?
Go to support.micromart.com/orders and under Installed Orders, click "Order new pushers".
Do you offer retrofit kits?
No, we are not currently offering retrofit kits.
Can I use my own POS terminal?
No, each Micromart cabinet will come equipped with its own payment terminal.
Do your terminals accept cash?
No, our units do not accept cash.
What payment types are supported?
We accept valid credit and debit cards from Visa, American Express, Mastercard, and Discover, as well as Google Pay and Apple Pay (not Apple Cash). However, in Canada, the terminals do not accept Debit cards.
Is there a Micromart app?
The app is currently in development, with a release date in the near future. The app will enable customers to view the closest Micromart location, earn points, and receive special promotions.
How does the cabinet connect to the internet?
At a minimum, each cabinet will use the provided SIM card for cellular connectivity.
Each cabinet can connect to Wi-Fi or LAN. We recommend using the site's Wi-Fi and LAN as the primary connection. In this case, the SIM card provided will automatically fail over if the Wi-Fi or LAN goes down.
Wi-Fi can be configured by the Micromart team remotely if and when the router has a basic cellular connection.
The LAN cable must be installed on-site during the setup process. Operators are responsible for providing a CAT5 or CAT6 Ethernet cable with RJ45 connectors.
Does the SIM come installed?
All units come with a Micromart-approved SIM card installed. It is a multi-carrier SIM that can connect to Verizon, T-Mobile, and AT&T. An associated monthly fee applies for cellular usage, which is approximately 5 cents per transaction.

What comes included in my purchase?
Each Micromart unit comes with:

Do your payment terminals support other languages?
No, at the moment our terminals are only available in English.
Payments & Transactions
What is the pre-authorization amount? Can it be changed?
Yes, as the operator, you can determine the pre-authorization amount. We typically recommend $10, which is the current default.
How do customers get a receipt?
Customers are required to enter their phone number the first time they interact with the cabinet. A receipt will be sent to their mobile device via SMS within a few hours.
What happens if someone takes out more than they have funds for?
We will make multiple attempts to charge the card, which would either put the customer into overdraft or above their credit limit.
What is the Revenue Protect Program?
If Micromart is unable to capture a payment from a card due to a technical issue or our object recognition sensors are unable to accurately detect items, we will cover the transaction costs. Covered costs will be displayed in your weekly payout.
Do the price tags display the price before or after tax?
The price tags will display the price with tax by default, and operators can configure the tags to show the pre-tax amount if they have set up sales taxes in the Platform.
Marketing & Promotions
Can ads be displayed on the screens?
Revenue-generating advertising that is outside of product promotions within the cabinet requires approval from Micromart.
What video content can be shown?
Photos and videos showcasing your products in your cabinet(s), along with text, icons, and logos, are permitted, provided they do not infringe on any copyright laws.
Do you provide marketing materials for pitching locations?
Yes! We have a Media Kit on our website that contains photos, videos, and other materials to assist you in pitching to locations.
What types of promotions can be run?
Currently, Micromart allows you to discount the price by either a percentage or a dollar amount. This can be applied to any products in your cabinet. Please see below for sample promotions:
- 10% off chocolate
- $2 off salads
- 15% off Monster Energy Drinks
Can I customize the sides of my Micromart?
Yes! You can print a large-format magnet that sticks to the side of your unit. You can design it with your logo, a graphic, or print a wood grain to elevate the look of your cabinet.
What are the dimensions of the screen?
The screen dimensions are 1920 pixels wide by 540 pixels tall.
What file format is supported?
You can upload either an .MP4 or .MOV file. All video files will automatically loop.
I have no experience in video creation. Do you offer support in this area?
We have Canva templates for 1, 2 and 3 cabinet-wide setups. Please reach out to our support@micromart.com for a copy.
Security
What security measures do you have in place to deter theft?
The cabinet is locked until it is unlocked with a valid card. Micromart has the ability to block cards from unlocking the cabinet in the future.
We also prevent prepaid cards, anonymous cards, and other high-risk cards from opening the door.
How do you make sure every transaction is accurate?
Our sensors have a 99.5% accuracy rate. The mandatory product pushers make it easier for the vision system to detect what gets taken out. If suspicious transactions are detected, they are forwarded to a human for further review to ensure that your customers are billed accurately.
What happens if a customer blocks the cameras?
The system has four cameras, and it is challenging to block all of them simultaneously. Our vision sensors are ultra-wide, and in many cases, we are still able to detect what gets taken out.
Does the door automatically close and lock?
The door has a spring, so it will close automatically if someone releases the handle. It will also lock on its own.
Can operators access video footage?
No, operators will not have access to the video footage, but they may request it for theft and other malicious incidents.
What happens if internet connectivity is lost?
The cellular SIM network will automatically activate in the event of connectivity loss. Operators will be charged 5 cents per transaction when using cellular.
What happens if the machine loses power?
The fridge contains a backup battery system that keeps the temperature logs even during a power outage.
During a power outage, the fridge will warm up to room temperature. This process typically takes several hours. The lock will be engaged, and customers will be unable to unlock the fridge. An external power supply can be added to temporarily alleviate this issue.

Do you offer training for operators?
Yes! Every new Micromart operator receives training from us before they receive their machine. We also offer ongoing coaching to ensure your business's success.

What happens if a machine stops working?
You will be notified automatically if your machine stops working, and you can check the latest status of your store on your phone or computer at any time. Our team will be in contact with you to resolve any issues. If a technician is required, we will dispatch one to your location.
How do I order replacement parts?
We can deliver replacement parts to you. We'll work with you and our suppliers to ensure that you receive a replacement part as soon as possible and assist you in installing it or arrange for a technician to do so.
What maintenance is required?
Micromart cabinets are very low-maintenance. Unlike traditional vending machines, Micromart units have fewer moving parts, which reduces the likelihood of breakdowns and associated repair costs. Our fridge manufacturer recommends cleaning the fridge compressor every 6 months, which you can do yourself by simply using a vacuum or a duster to clear dust and debris from the condenser coils around the compressor. We also recommend cleaning the handle and the window on your Micromart to keep it hygienic and attractive.
